Clarion-Ledger: Obama "can motivate and inspire a nation"
Sun Mar 09, 2008 at 01:49:24 PM PDT
The Mississippi Clarion-Ledger throws its support behind Obama in today's edition, while also acknowledging Clinton's strengths. This could provide a nice boost to Obama's performance in the Mississippi primary on Tuesday.
Sen. Obama is the best choice. He provides a broad vision that motivates not only minorities, but old and new Democrats of all stripes. He also is popular with independents and young, unaffiliated voters - giving Democrats their best shot for the White House.
A bit more after the flip.
Help us break through the Republican firewall in CT
Wed Sep 27, 2006 at 02:29:30 PM PDT
Connecticut is at the epicenter of the fight for control of the House this year. As Kos
reported this morning, the National Republican Congressional Committee is "focusing its firewall efforts" on Connecticut, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
There's a reason Connecticut is on this list: This is a blue state, three of our five Representatives are Republican (unbelievably), and the three Dem challengers for the seats are fantastic candidates. In other words, the GOP is scared.
We at My Left Nutmeg have put together an ActBlue page promoting the three Democratic House challengers (in addition to our homestate hero, Ned Lamont).
If you can spare it, please consider giving to these candidates through ActBlue or through the candidates' websites directly. Bush was here fundraising for the CT Republican party earlier this week (no press invited, I wonder why), so the opposition is going to be fierce and well-funded. As they say, every contribution counts.

Maher: Miers the Most Qualified Person (Within 30 Feet)
Sat Oct 08, 2005 at 09:27:55 PM PDT
In "New Rules" on Real Time last night, Bill Maher skewered Bush on his administration's dangerous cronyism and the Miers appointment. Good stuff:
George Bush must meet some new people.
You know, when Americans see their president giving every job to the same old cronies, they use words like loyal-to-a-fault and stubborn and close-minded...lives in a bubble, sock puppet. Asshole. Worst president ever.
But they're missing the point. The problem isn't his political philosophy (kill people and animals and take their gas). The problem is he has to expand his circle of friends beyond his mom, Karen Hughes, and the House of Saud. Which is why before George Bush makes another political appointment, he has to join Friendster.
More great suggestions for the prez from Mr. Maher on the flip.
Microsoft's Betrayal: Take Action!
Sat Apr 23, 2005 at 07:16:57 PM PDT
As Big Time Parrot pointed out in an
earlier diary, Microsoft's reversal on GLBT anti-discrimination legislation in Washington State is not only unjust and uncivil but also bad business.
This is going to come back to bite them...big time. And it should.
Americablog offers a great overview of the recent happenings out of Redmond. Check it out if you haven't already.
I decided to put this diary together -- my first, so go easy! -- because I haven't been able to find any constructive online resource for how to take steps to make sure Microsoft knows how saddened, displeased, and OUTRAGED many of us are. They need to know there will be consequences.
More below the fold...including ACTION STEPS.
